The New England Student Leadership Conference Visited Canton and Revived a Playground
College students helped clean the Hansen School Playground in time for the new school year.
The Hansen Elementary School playground received a much needed makeover this summer by students from the The New England Student Leadership Conference.
On Friday, July 21, a NESLC (New England Student Leadership Conference) group along with Hansen Elementary School principal, Peter Boucher, were out working in the school playground and getting it ready for the new school year.
The students, along with Boucher, had the playground landscaped in a few hours.

Daniel Reynolds, one of the students from Portsmouth, Rhode Island High School said, "We do anything to help community. The playground was closed because the mulch hadn't been replaced and it wasn't safe for the children."

Students who are entering grades 10, 11, or 12 in the fall of 2012 are encouraged to apply for a spot in this conference.
Stonehill College in North Easton hosted the four day leadership event for 200 student and adult leaders from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and New Hampshire.
The conference helped students understand the power of positive influence through workshop sessions and discussions on the topics of Respect, Positive Values, Perspective, Sportsmanship, Teamwork, Healthy Lifestyles, Community Service and Self Evaluation.
