Accomplishments: The 18 year-old keeping readers in touch with life as a senior at Anjali Schutt rehabilitated herself mentally and physically after being hit by a car in fourth grade. She was left with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), a chronic pain condition that causes inflammation, skin discoloring and hypersensitivity.
Schutt recalls the time when “it was hard to walk or even put a sock on without bursting into tears because of my pain.”

Now Captain of the and member of the tennis and swim teams, Schutt has worked as a lifeguard, waitress and cook. She walks, runs and plays sports with “only minor discomfort and a little pain…an awesome accomplishment for me!”
“The incident made me stronger and more compassionate.” Schutt now wants to become a physical therapist to help others.
She is passionately involved with National Charity League and is treasurer of the Junior Statesmen of America.
This maintains a 3.0 grade point average and has been accepted to Colby-Sawyer College.
