A Whole Lot of Class With These Canton High Athletes

The Canton High senior class left the mark of athletic excellence.

The Class of 2013 leaves Canton High School as one of the most successful athletic classes in recent memory. 

Out of the 221 member class, 119 were awarded varsity letters at the Senior Banquet June 6. Fourteen members of the class, Kristen Burns, Mellyn Costello, Dexter Green, Matt Lennon, Meg Lennon, JC Marcone, Megan McKenna, Kevin McNeil, Craig Mills, Ian Mills, Rich Nee, Mike Rota, Justin Rudy and Peter Sheehan.

 The Class of 2013 led their teams to great heights during their senior season including six Hockomock Davenport Championships- field hockey, volleyball, girls' soccer, girls' swimming, boys' ice hockey and boys' lacrosse, and a league championship in girls' hockey, Sectional Championship: volleyball, state semifinal appearance.

Boys' soccer, boys' basketball, swimming and boys' lacrosse teams all won Hockomock Sportsmanship awards.

Several individuals were also honored at the senior banquet for special recognition.

Paul J. Callahan Jr. Award-Dexter Green 

John Horack Award- Male Matt Lennon

John Horack Award- Female Kyshani Dummott

Hall of Fame Sportsmanship award-Mellyn Costello 

Hall of Fame Spirit Award-Dan Sheehy

Hockomock Scholar-Athlete Award- Male-Justin Rudy

Hockomock Scholar-Athlete Award- Female Meg McKenna
