Canton Athletes Take Part in Track Championship

Two CHS athletes participated in the 2011 New England championship.

Two Canton High School participated in this weekend's 2011 New England Interscholastic Track and Field Competition at the Reggie Lewis Center in Roxbury. Matt Sidney cleared 6'5" and ended up in a six-way tie for 6th place. Jon Vaughn just missed out on qualifying for the finals in his preliminary heat. (The photos are of Matt Sidney clearing the bar at 6' 3".)

According to the 2011 New England Competition website, the athletes represented the best athletes in track field from each state.  "The top six from each event in each state have qualified and will be competing together to determine who is the best in New England."
