Canton High Sports Scoreboard: Bulldog Football Team Hungry for Second Win

The Canton High football team will be facing a tough challenge as South Shore League powerhouse Abington will be town for a 6 p.m. nonleague game.

 

 

FOOTBALL-The Canton High football team will be playing South Shore League powerhouse Abington Friday at 6 p.m. in their third straight nonleague game. The Green Wave is going to have to try to stop Canton's Dexter Green, who scored 21 points as the Bulldogs defeated North Quincy, 21-12. Green had three touchdowns, a two-point conversion and kicked an extra point. The Bulldogs are 1-0 going into the game, while the Green Wave is 2-0 coming off a win against Plymouth North last Friday.

FIELD HOCKEY-The Canton High field hockey team will be traveling to Sharon Monday for a 3:45 p.m. game against the rival Eagles. In a 5-0 win over new Hockomock League member Milford, Meg McKenna led the way with three goals, while Kellie Stigas added a pair.

GIRLS SOCCER-The Canton High girls' soccer team will be on the road Monday for a 3:45 p.m. game at Sharon. Lauren Berman had the lone score as the Bulldogs tied Milford, 1-1.

CROSS-COUNTY-The Canton High boys' and girls' cross-country teams will be playing host to Foxborough Monday in a 3:45 p.m. meet. Amanda Eagles was the top finisher for the Bulldogs in a 26-31 loss to Sharon in the team's season opener. Kevin McNeil was the first Bulldog boy across the finish line in a 15-50 loss to Sahron.

GOLF-Rival Oliver Ames will be the opponent for the Bulldogs Friday at the Blue Hills Country Club. Canton will be facing Milford for the first time in Hockomock League play Monday at Hopedale Country Club. Canton lost to powerhouse Sharon, 155-161. Sam Riemer was the top golfer for the Bulldogs with 39, while Sam Hrubec and JC Marcone each had 40 and Gavin Monagle added a 42 to account for the Canton scoring.

VOLLEYBALL-The Oliver Ames volleyball team will be the Bulldogs' opponent Monday at home in a 3:45 p.m. match.
