Canton Patch Bulldog Scoreboard

The following is an update on the Canton High athletic teams.

 

BOYS' ICE HOCKEY (3-3): The Bulldogs saw their record drop to .500 on the season with a 1-0 loss to Oliver Ames, Wednesday night. David Nolan scored the goal for the Tigers, while Colin Lozzi added the assist. OA goaltender Jimmy Teirney kept the Bulldogs off the scoring sheet with a 41 save effort. On New Year's Eve, the Bulldogs posted a 6-2 win over Norwell, breaking open a 2-2 tie after two periods. Brian Brooks scored two goals, while Michael Denehy, Tony Francescon, Pat Ward and JC Marcone netted single tallies for the Bulldogs.

GIRLS' ICE HOCKEY (5-1): The Bulldogs notched their fifth win of the season with a 4-0 victory over Westwood Wednesday. Julia Nagel scored two goals, while goaltender Emily Buckley made 15 saves for the shutout. Canton will be in action Saturday against Mansfield at Ioria Arena in Walpole in a 4:45 p.m. game.

BOYS' BASKETBALL (2-4): The Bulldogs will be hosting Attleboro Friday at 6:30 p.m. Andrew Mansfield led the team to its second win of the season, 50-30, over vacation week. Both of the Bulldogs' wins have been against Pembroke.

WRESTLING- At the Lowell Holiday Tournament, the Bulldogs' Chris Sullivan finished third overall, while Quinn Merrigan was fifth. Rob DiCalogero won four matches. The Bulldogs will be at Foxborough Jan. 9 for a 6:30 p.m. match.

SWIMMING-The Bulldogs will be hosting Milford Friday, Jan. 11, at 3:30 p.m. at the Blue Hills Pool.

GYMNASTICS-The Bulldogs will be hosting Oliver Ames Saturday, Jan. 4 at 4:30 p.m. at the Metro South Gymnastics Academy.
