"Colleen left it all on the court, dominating the opposition," said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach Amanda Van Voorhis. "She has worked very hard developing her offensive skills and it's paying off for her as a senior. She is establishing better position on the low block, and her sense and touch around the rim is impeccable. We had to fight for our wins last week. Colleen led that charge with her stellar performances and as our floor leader."

A junior forward, Bornemann was selected for the first week of the season.

Bornemann averaged 16 points and 13 rebounds per game as the Corsairs defeated Rivier and Maine Farmington in the season-opening UMass Dartmouth Basketball Classic, presented by the Fairfield Inn & Suites.

Bornemann scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as UMass Dartmouth defeated Rivier, 66-62. She then scored 18 points and had 14 rebounds in the victory over Maine-Farmington.

"Erika had an outstanding opening weekend,"  said Van Voorhis after the announcement was made. "She is locked in right now, showing unbelievable focus and drive. When she has the hot hand, our team is successful. She was relentless on the boards and showed off her shooting touch from the perimeter. I can't ask for much more from her right now. She was tremendous."
