The Canton Fall Classic Road Race celebrated its 24th year on Sunday, Oct. 28 with a record breaking number of runners. This year the parking lot at Temple Beth Abraham was over flowing with vendors giving out free samples. It is considered to be one of the more scenic road races in the South Shore with a tough but beautiful course.
The 5K offers a competitive alternative for those interested in a shorter and faster race. Both the 5K and 10K courses are accurate, wheel measured with split time and water stations. The Fun Run was fun and the kids did a great job.
The runners who registered before Oct. 15 received long sleeve dri-fit tee shirt with the race sponsors listed on the back. There were also lots of prizes for the top finishers.
In the 5K Category, the Top 3 Finishers were: David Chorney 16:19, second place Joseph Pike 16:55 and third place, Kevin O'Donnell 17:49, 19, from Canton.
The 10K results: Brian Harvey 31:18.4 in first place; Mike Fisher 31:37.0 in second place; Lee Danforth 33:08.4 in third place.
