The texture of our hair changes with the seasons so with the summer heat and humidity most of us can expect frizz and curls even if you don't have them in the cooler months.
Pam Cronin a professional stylist and colorist lends us some tips on how to keep our tresses manageable.
"You need to use a spray leave in conditioner to help protect your hair from sun damage," said Cronin. "After washing your hair, dry it with a cotton T-shirt. A towel can break your hair and is much more harsh than a soft T-shirt. After the spray leave in conditioner, apply a small drop of moroccan oil. This will keep your hair from frizzing and also adds nutrients and minerals. Do all 3 of these steps before you blow dry."
Other tips for before and after swimming. You need to wet your hair before going swimming and then rinse your hair right after swimming.
What if you want your hair super straight? One option is a spray keratin treatment which not only locks in color but lasts for 4-to-6-weeks and helps keeping away the frizz. There are no toxins in the spray in keratin and the cost is $40.00, more reasonable than a full keratin treatment that can be very costly. A keratin treatment can be upwards of $250.00 and lasts anywhere from three to five months.
