Benefit for Former Canton Resident Richard “Dickie” MacLeod Planned

Friends of the former Canton resident are helping to raise funds.

Friends of former Canton resident Richard “Dickie” MacLeod have organized an event to support an education fund that has been set up with for his two children. Dickie passed away unexpectedly on July 8 at the age of 42. Son of the late Richard H. MacLeod, Sr. and Mary L. (Flood) MacLeod, Dickie left behind his two sons Jack and Sam, his brother Dave, and two sisters Maryellen Galvin and Suzanne Stevens, plus many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Dickie was a 1987 graduate of .

Dickie was a well-known and highly respected member of our community. He was employed as the contractor services manager at Mansfield Home Depot as well as general manager of . Dickie also was a dedicated public servant previously holding the constituent services director position in the Massachusetts State Senate, where he worked tirelessly helping his fellow neighbors on a daily basis.

“The Friends of Dickie MacLeod” would like to invite you for a day of friendship, laughter and support to benefit “The Jack & Sam MacLeod College Fund Trust.” All are welcome to attend a Pig Roast Celebration on Saturday, August 27,  from 4:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. on the patio at Waxy O’Connor’s Irish Pub & Restaurant, 121 Main Street in Foxboro.

Tickets are $25 and will be available at the door. Festivities will include Live Entertainment, Dancing, Delicious Food & Drink, a Cash Bar, Old Friends, Raffles, and a Silent Auction. Please come out on August 27th to help support “The Jack & Sam MacLeod College Fund Trust” and to celebrate and remember a great man and to share memories.
