Friday marked the opening of the Canton Art Association spring art exhibit which will run through Saturday, May 19, 2012 at
Canton Art Association president, Ellen McHugo announced on Friday that she would be stepping down as president and encouraged the group to submit names of people who would make a good leader.
The Canton Art Association was started back in 1951 by Margaret Doody who was the head librarian at the at that time.

Each year the "Margaret Doody Award" is given to a high school student deemed most promising by the Art Department of Canton High School.
