Community Coming Together to Raise Funds for Canton Family

A fundraiser is being held on March 18 at the Halfway Cafe for the Forman family.

Two Canton mothers are organizing a fundraiser to help a fellow Canton family.

Arlene Grasso and Denny Swenson are hoping the community comes out to the Halfway Cafe to support the Forman family on March 18.

"Jonathan Forman was a true inspiration to the Canton community," Swenson, a family friend, said. "As a single father of two Canton students, Sabrina and Aimee, he defied the odds and gallantly fought cancer for over three years. He passed away just over a year ago."

Swenson said Forman's aunt is now raising the girls in Canton.

"As she tries to save for the girls’ education, we would like to honor Jonathan’s memory the first week of spring this year," she said.

Swenson said she wants to honor Forman's memory and "his positive and outgoing attitude. He would want us to do something fun and easy. He loved this community and this community loved him."

Folks can eat at the Halfway Cafe in Canton from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 a.m. on Sunday, March 18. All diners need to do is present the ticket (posted to the right) and a portion of the proceeds from food, drinks and take-out orders will be donated to the Jonathan Forman Fund.

Also, donations can be sent directly to the Jonathan Forman Fund, 557 Washington Street, Canton, MA 02021, Attn: Geri Ryan.
