Tom Brady Using Canton Company to Help Find Kidney Donor for Longtime Coach, Friend

Super Bowl-bound Patriot Tom Brady has a super cause.

The New England Patriots' star quarterback is help find a kidney donor for his longtime friend, mentor and coach, MyFoxBoston reported.

in Canton is assisting the football star in his search to find a donor for Tom Martinez. Brady's mentor, 68, lives in California, according to MyFoxBoston.

Brady has been using his Facebook page to promote the search, MyFoxBoston reported.

"Tom is a great guy and has given us great visibility," Paul Dooley, CEO of MatchingDonors.com told MyFoxBoston.

The Canton nonprofit helps facilitate organ donations. It allows those seeking donors to post photos and information on the site.

The company was created in the aftermath of local dentist and now company CEO Paul Dooley’s father’s death, according to .

Dooley watched his father, who suffered from kidney failure, slowly die before getting to the top of the cadaver kidney list, Capone reported.

He collaborated with his best friend, a medical doctor named Jeremiah Lowney, to create a unique online community in which patients can seek out a kidney donation from a living donor. This was a personal mission, as Dooley did not want other people to die waiting for a kidney.

Matchingdonors.com was created as an added venue to seek transplants.
