Author Chuck Hogan Speaks At The Canton Senior Men's Club

Chuck Hogan, author and Canton native, spoke to the Senior Men's Club at the Canton Public Library.

Chuck Hogan grew up in Canton, graduated from Canton High School, and then from Boston College in 1989. In 1995, a mere six years later, his first novel, "The Standoff," was published.  Almost sounds like pure luck, but Hogan worked hard for his reward. "I was busy. This was the third novel I had completed, but the first one published," Hogan told the Canton Senior Men's Club at the Canton Public Library on Tuesday. "I was in a writing group, learning the ropes, making contacts and writing, and when the time came, I was in a position to get lucky," the author said.  That novel, "Prince of Thieves," was an award-winning piece of work and the basis for the wildly popular film, "The Town," produced by Ben Affleck and set in Charlestown. Drop off new, unwrapped toys to Bertucci's at 95 Washington Street, Dolan Flooring at 605 Washington Street or Wuotila Chiropractic at 575 Washington Street.  2.
