McGeough-Lamacchia Realty On Buying a Home in Canton
If you're looking to buy a home in Canton, here's some advice from McGeough-Lamacchia Realty.
Residents from Canton and the surrounding area may have spotted the Fox 25 news team in town last week, as the crew visited the Blue Hills Ski Area. But Friday also marked a chance for local real estate agents John McGeough and Anthony Lamacchia of McGeough-Lamacchia Realty Inc. to discuss why it's a great time to buy a home in Canton . Both offer insights and statistics into the Canton real estate market in a conversation with Fox 25's Doug VB Goudie. Among those stats? Nineteen homes were sold in Canton last month, as compared to seven homes in January 2012, an increase of 171 percent, according to McGeough-Lamacchia Realty Inc. See the full video on Fox 25 here.

Fox 25 Hosted their Morning Show Live at the Blue Hills Ski Area.
On Feb. 22, Fox 25 Morning News hosted their show live at the Blue Hills Ski Area. This event was originally planned for Feb. 8 but was postponed due to the blizzard. Host Elizabeth Hopkins from Fox 25 had lights, cameras and crew shooting slope side and in the lodge. Season passes are still available and lessons are offered all season. Fox 25 Morning News to Visit Blue Hills Ski Area Friday
The morning news team will be on hand at the local ski mountain today from 7 to 10 a.m.
Friday marks the last day of February Vacation for students in Canton, but it also marks the date of the rescheduled visit to the Blue Hills Ski Area for the Fox 25 Morning News crew. The crew's "On the Slopes" segment was originally slated to take place on Friday, Feb. 8, but was postponed due to the impending conditions fo the Blizzard of 2013. The news team has been visiting a different New England mountain every Friday since Jan. 11, and this week will give an insider's look at planning the perfect ski getaway or ski day locally. Those who pre-registered for the Feb. 8 event are still registered for the rescheduled date, today, Feb. 22. The segment will from from 7 to 10 a.m. today. February School Vacation at the Blue Hills Ski Area
There is still time to register for lessons this week.
Bored this February Vacation? How about checking out some skiing right in your own back yard? The Blue Hills Ski Area Snow Sports Vacation Camp offers a 5 day ski/snow boarding program for children aged 7-15 years. The camps are available for skiers and riders of all levels from beginner to advanced. Participants ride with a Blue Hills Instructor from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day with free unsupervised riding one hour before and one hour after the program. The camps are a great opportunity to spend some quality time outdoors during school vacations in a fun, friendly family environment. Looking to take advantage of the February vacation week to hone in on your skiing skills without having to travel too far north? No problem. This week Canton Patch will provide updates on the ski conditions at the Blue Hills Ski Area in Canton. The following snow report was last update on the Blue Hills Ski Area website shortly after 6 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 18. To view a live webcam of the ski area, click here. The ski slopes were open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday with a surface of packed powder that was hard packed. All slopes were open Monday, save one black diamond trail "Beer's Bluff".
