Draper Industries donated space to help the Girl Scouts with their delivery of Thin Mints, Peanut Butter Patties and more.
It's Girl Scout Cookie time in Canton. Last week, Draper Industries donated their space to the scouts for the big delivery and a total of 760 cases of cookies filled the warehouse. Canton resident opens new BBQ and catering company.
Award-winning, fall-off-the-bone ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, cornbread and BBQ beans are just a few of the tasty offerings residents and barbeque lovers can now enjoy right in Canton. New England BBQ and Catering LLC opened its doors on Jackson Street two months ago. The catering and take-out restaurant is located directly across the street from the commuter rail station at 120 Jackson Street. "People coming from the train stop in and grab dinner," co-owner Steve Farrin said. "We are providing a quality product for locals and it's something a little different." Farrin, a Malden resident who has been competing for the past 14 years in BBQ competitions across the country, co-owns New England BBQ with Canton resident Brendan Burek. Burek …

A week in review on Canton Patch.
It was a busy week of news, sports and arts here in Canton. On Thursday, a State Police K-9 discovered remains in the woods on Royall Street, across from Reebok. Canton Public Schools are tackling bullying and educating parents on the subject and the Chamber of Commerce tackled the economy in a recent workshop. In other local (and lighter) news, Canton Patch managed to grab Santa Claus for an exclusive interviews and demanded answers to all of the children's biggest …

The NVCC invited a three-person panel to speak about the economy for the next fiscal year.
The recession may be over, but it doesn't quite feel like it. This was the general theme of the Neponset Valley Chamber of Commerce's breakfast Tuesday morning at the Four Points Sheraton in Norwood. The event included a buffet breakfast and a three-person panel on the economic forecast for the next fiscal year, and was attended by business people from several surrounding communities. Speakers included Michael J. Widmer, President of the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation; George Donnelly, Editor of Boston Business Journal; and Michael Goodman, Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Public Policy at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Goodman said that any attempt to predict the future is faulty. "It's an occupational …
