5 Things Dec 12: There is a Special Georgia O'Keeffe Pastel Workshop at the Canton Public Library

There is an Open House at Canton High School for the 8th Grade Class.

  Today is the fourth day of Chanukah! 1. From 10:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. there is a still life painting class sponsored by the Canton Art Association at the Canton Public Library in the Library Arts and Activities Room. PHOTOS: The Canton Art Association Annual Sacrifice Sale

A gallery of some of the featured work at the Canton Public Library.

  The Canton Art Association holds it's Annual Sacrifice Sale on the Saurday after Thanksgiving every year. This year there were more featured artists with oil paintings, water color works and some mixed media. People were lined up at the door in anticipation of what they may find inside. Many left with multiple pieces. Here is a sampling of photos of several of the artists works.

1. The Canton Food Pantry is open today from 9:15-11:15 a.m. Located at 960R Washington St. Donations are always welcome. 2. Tot Time will be held from 10:30-11:15 a.m. at the Canton Public Library for ages 9 months to 3 years. 3. Canton Art Association President Steps Down

Spring Art exhibit at the library.

Friday marked the opening of the Canton Art Association spring art exhibit which will run through Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Canton Public Library. Canton Art Association president, Ellen McHugo announced on Friday that she would be stepping down as president and encouraged the group to submit names of people who would make a good leader. The Canton Art Association was started back in 1951 by Margaret Doody who was the head librarian at the Canton Public Library at that time. Each year the "Margaret Doody Award" is given to a high school student deemed most promising by the Art Department of Canton High School.
