The Board of Selectmen will meet prior to a public hearing on the proposed housing development for the former Plymouth Rubber site.
The Canton Board of Selectmen will look to approve Saturday, April 27 as the date for this year's Canton Little League Parade in a brief meeting tonight before a public hearing aimed at the proposed housing devleopment for the former Plymouth Rubber site. Tonight's Selectmen meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Canton Public Library's Community Meeting Room. Also on the agenda is a discussion on an application from Cushing Entertainment to hold a carnival for the Canton Recreation Department at the John F. Kennedy School from Saturday, April 13 to Sunday, April 21, contingent upon approval from the Building Commissioner.

At the Canton Board of Selectmen meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 27, the board met with representatives from the South Coast Railway Project and the MBTA for an update on how the project might affect Canton. The South Coast project has been ongoing. Gov. Deval Patrick recently went down to Washington, D.C. in hopes of hurrying the process and is very much in favor of having rail service which will start in South Station and run through Canton and Stoughton and bring service to Fall River, New Bedford and Taunton. The Canton Selectmen had asked the representatives prior to the Nov. 27 meeting via written letters and phone conversations to answer questions regarding the impact it would have on traffic and intersections in Canton.
