Canton Garden Club Annual Plant Sale This Saturday

The annual plant sale for the Canton Garden Club will take place at the Canton Public Library on Saturday, May 11.

On Saturday, May 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. the Canton Garden Club will host their annual plant sale at the Canton Public Library. Some of the featured plants this year that will be for sale are perennials, annuals, and herbs. There will also be beautiful potted plants and hanging plants. Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer any of your gardening questions. Members working on the project this week are Garden Club members: Cheryl James, Roxy Gray, Marty Kramer, Loretta Connolly, Marilyn Gowing, Marilyn Curran and Peg Keady.

5 Things Dec 4: Massasoit Annual Prints and Pottery Sale begins today.

The Annual Prints and Holiday Pottery Sale starts today at the Massasoit Community College Akillian Gallery from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. One of a kind gifts from the student body and faculty at the shool. The Canton Garden Club Annual Holiday House Tour 2012

This year's theme is 'Songs of the Season' for the Canton Club Annual Holiday Tour.

  The Canton Garden Club is having its annual house tour on Dec 7 and Dec 8. This years theme is 'Songs of the Season' where each home will illustrate a holiday song. The co-chairs this year are Joan Marie Driscoll who owns Floral Scents on Washington Street in Canton along with Mary Titus. There are 3 homes featured as well as Pequitside Farm. They are: 14 Williams Street, 54 Messinger Street, 319 Sherman Street and Pequitside Farm at 79 Pleasant Street. There's a new club at the library called The Good Morning Book Club.

1. From 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. the Canton Garden Club will be having a Board Meeting at the Canton Public Library in the Library Arts & Activities room. 2. Check out a storytime session at 10:30 a.m. for ages 2 1/2 to 5 1/2 at the Canton Public Library. No registration is necessary. 3. The Good Morning Book Club is new and you are invited to join from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. The club will meet mid-mornings once per month at the Canton Public Library. A Tree Grows in Canton: Arbor Day at the Canton Public Library.

The Canton Garden Club with the assistance of Absolute Landscape planted a tree in honor of Arbor Day on April 27 at the Canton Public Library. Vicky Chaisson, beautification chairman of the Garden Club said,"Each year we plant a tree in different places around Canton in honor of Arbor Day." Garden Club president Maribel Powell said, "We picked this spot, the Washington Street side of the library because so many people will be able to watch this beautiful flowering tree grow." Absolute Landscape donated their planting services.

Canton Garden Club held their annual Holiday Bows and Greens sale at Canton Public Library Saturday.

The Canton Public Library's Community Room was decked out with an assortment of wreaths, greenery and holiday decor this weekend as the Canton Garden Club held their annual Holiday Bows and Greens Sale. Each year, Garden Club members start preparing as early as October to create a large variety of holiday arrangements and decor.  "We made all of these fresh green assortments yesterday in a workshop," said Member Carol Munson, of the variety of wreaths, floral arrangements, topiaries and more on display at the sale. A bake sale portion and raffle were also part of the holiday sale.

Canton Garden Club Springs to the Occasion

Volunteer gardening enthusiasts donated their time and talents to prepare for Massachusetts Audubon Society's gala.

Members of the Canton Garden Club spent several hours designing floral arrangements on Friday. The group gathered at the Canton Public Library for the floral prep for Saturday's For The Birds! Gala benefiting the Massachusetts Audubon Society. Although the Canton Garden Club and the Massachusetts Audubon Society are not officially linked, the two nonprofit groups have similar priorities close to their hearts. Many people know that the Mass Audubon Society ranks conservation as a high priority. Folks may be surprised to know that conservation and nature-education are also main goals of the Canton Garden Club. For many of the Garden Club members, volunteering to arrange the floral centerpieces for the gala is a great way to volunteer for an …

Canton Does Up the Holidays all Through December and January

The top 12 performances in Canton this season.

 1. In Canton, the holiday season started in early December with the annual tree lighting at Town Hall on Thursday December 2.  Santa came by for a visit with the kids, and the caroling was provided by a group from the Canton High School and the 8th grade choruses, and led by Sarah Collmer, Coordinator of Performing Arts for the Canton School District.  Also performing were members of a dance troupe from Dance Out, a dance academy located in Canton.  The group of five, Sophie Le, Briana Murphy, Kayla Kleinbauer, Jayna Wolfe and Angela Jenkins-Sutton overcame technical difficulties with smiles, and offered a crowd-pleasing holiday dance piece.  2.     The big guy in red also appeared at the Canton Public Library on December 10and he was, as…
