PHOTOS: Canton High Girls' Basketball at Stoughton

Photos from Friday's girls basketball game between Canton and Stoughton. The visiting Bulldogs fell 48-27.

With the Canton High girls' basketball team locked in a close game with Stoughton, trailing the Black Knights by just three points, 14-11, about midway through the second quarter, Stoughton went to a zone press on defense, and the pressure caused all sorts of trouble for Canton. Stoughton closed the quarter with a 14-0 run, taking a 28-11 lead at the half. Canton was unable to recover, losing 48-27 at Davenport Division rival Stoughton Friday night in Stoughton. Canton is now 1-6 on the season. Stoughton improved to 6-2. Eileen Khoury led Canton with 6 points, while Gabby Kenefick had 5 points and Kyshani Dummott and Aimee Pina added 4 points each. Canton is home against Franklin on Tuesday and home against Foxborough next Friday, Jan. 18…

Canton Patch Bulldog Scoreboard

The following is an update on the Canton High athletic teams.

  BOYS' ICE HOCKEY (3-3): The Bulldogs saw their record drop to .500 on the season with a 1-0 loss to Oliver Ames, Wednesday night. David Nolan scored the goal for the Tigers, while Colin Lozzi added the assist. OA goaltender Jimmy Teirney kept the Bulldogs off the scoring sheet with a 41 save effort. On New Year's Eve, the Bulldogs posted a 6-2 win over Norwell, breaking open a 2-2 tie after two periods. Brian Brooks scored two goals, while Michael Denehy, Tony Francescon, Pat Ward and JC Marcone netted single tallies for the Bulldogs. GIRLS' ICE HOCKEY (5-1): The Bulldogs notched their fifth win of the season with a 4-0 victory over Westwood Wednesday.
