The Canton High boys' ice hockey team will be facing Hockomock League rival North Attleboro in the Division 2 South quarterfinals Saturday at Asiaf Rink in Brockton at 6 p.m.
BOYS' ICE HOCKEY-The Bulldogs are the No. 1 seed in Division 3 will play North Attleboro Satuirday in the quarterfinals at Asiaf Rink in Brockton at 6 p.m. The winner wll face the winner of the Oliver Ames-Coyle-Cassidy game, which is being played at 2 p.m. in Brockton. Canton finished the season with a 15-3-2 record after losing their last game of the season to Coyle-Cassidy. BOYS' BASKETBALL-The Bulldogs lost to Norton, 52-39, first round of the Division 2 South tournament Thursday night. Canton went on the road to Abington for a preliminary round Monday night and returned home with a 62-60 win, knocking the Green Wave out of the tourney. The Canton boys' basketball team defeated King Philip Friday night,
GIRLS' HOCKEY (14-2)-The Bulldogs edged out Westwood, 3-2, Saturday. Meaghan McKenna scored four goals to led the Buldogs to a 6-2 win over Mansfield/Oliver Ames, Wednesday at home. Meghan Lannon and Katie Kelleher had the other goals. Julie Nagel and Kelly Trenice each had two assists. Lannon, Casey Considine and Emily Lanci also had assists. Lindsay Nolte made 13 saves in net to get the win. The Bulldogs defeated Dover-Sherborn, 6-3, Saturday as Lanci and McKenna each scored three goals. Julie Nagle had two assists. The Canton High girls' basketball team falls to Mansfield.

BOYS' ICE HOCKEY (9-2-)-The Bulldogs got revenge on one of their losses thisseason, beating Oliver Ames, 3-1, Saturday in Canton. Pat Ward, Ben Lodge and Brian Brooks scored the goals. “We sort had to sort of weather the storm and then get to playing our game, which we did. We carried the play in the second period and then in the third they started playing well but it was good to get that last one to really seal the deal,” said Canton High head coach Brian Shulman onhockomocksports.com. BOYS' ICE HOCKEY (3-3): The Bulldogs saw their record drop to .500 on the season with a 1-0 loss to Oliver Ames, Wednesday night. David Nolan scored the goal for the Tigers, while Colin Lozzi added the assist. OA goaltender Jimmy Teirney kept the Bulldogs off the scoring sheet with a 41 save effort. On New Year's Eve, the Bulldogs posted a 6-2 win over Norwell, breaking open a 2-2 tie after two periods. Brian Brooks scored two goals, while Michael Denehy, Tony Francescon, Pat Ward and JC Marcone netted single tallies for the Bulldogs.
