A recent addition to the Chubby Chickpea is its truck, also in bright yellow, which travels into Boston every day and serves lunch five days a week in the financial district and Back Bay. Shemtov said, "My father has been in the restaurant business for over 35 years and I came up with the plan to open a Middle Eastern restaurant my first year in college. A fundraiser is being held on March 18 at the Halfway Cafe for the Forman family.
Two Canton mothers are organizing a fundraiser to help a fellow Canton family. Arlene Grasso and Denny Swenson are hoping the community comes out to the Halfway Cafe to support the Forman family on March 18. "Jonathan Forman was a true inspiration to the Canton community," Swenson, a family friend, said. "As a single father of two Canton students, Sabrina and Aimee, he defied the odds and gallantly fought cancer for over three years. He passed away just over a year ago." Swenson said Forman's aunt is now raising the girls in Canton. "As she tries to save for the girls’ education, we would like to honor Jonathan’s memory the first week of spring this year," she said. One Canton gift shop is helping birthday dreams come true for local homeless children.
