Driver in Fatal Canton Crash Arraigned on Vehicular Homicide and Drunk Driving Charges

Sean Jackman, 24, was arraigned at Boston Medical Center where he recovers from injuries sustained in the Saturday morning crash, which killed the lone passenger in the vehcile. He is being held on $500,000 cash bail.

Sean Jackman, 24, of Stoughton, the driver in Saturday's fatal car crash in Canton, was arraigned Monday on multiple charges, including motor vehicle homicide and drunk driving.  Jackman was arraigned at Boston Medical Center, where he remains hospitalized following the single car crash, which killed the lone passenger in the vehicle, Evan Bard, a junior at Curry College.  At the request of Assistant District Attorney Melissa Brooks, Jackman was held on $500,000 cash bail, according to a release from the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office. Stoughton District Court Judge Richard Savignano presided over the arraignment.  Jackman pled not guilty to charges of motor vehicle homicide, operating under the influence, speeding and marked …

Drunk Driver Sent to Jail After Killing Stoughton Woman in Canton

Auricelli Braga pled guilty Wednesday in Norfolk Superior Court to charges stemming from a June 2012 car crash which killed a 64-year-old Stoughton woman, according to the Norfolk County DA's office. Braga is not a legal resident of this country.

The unlicensed illegal immigrant drunk driver from Stoughton who crossed the center line of Rte. 138 in Canton on June 24, 2012, striking and killing Sara Escudero, a 64-year-old Stoughton woman, was sent to jail Wednesday, according to a press release from the office of Norfolk County District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey. Auricelli Braga, 32, from Stoughton, pled guilty in Norfolk Superior Court to both charges against her: Motor Vehicle Homicide by Negligent Operation while Operating Under the Influence and Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, according to the DA's office. “The judge imposed 2.5 years in the house of correction with two years incarcerated and the balance suspended during 5 years of supervised probation," Morrissey …

Stoughton Woman Dies in Canton Car Crash

A 64-year-old woman died in a two-car crash in Canton on June 24, according to the Norfolk County District Attorney's office.

Sara Escudero, a 64-year-old Stoughton woman, died in an early-morning car crash Sunday in Canton. The two-car accident occurred at 5:45 a.m. on June 24 at 230 Turnpike St. in Canton, a spokesperson for the Norfolk County District Attorney's office told the Boston Globe. The Globe also reported that a person in the other vehicle involved in the crash sustained injuries and was transported to Boston Medical Center.
