Hilliard's in Canton Serving Up Sweet Scoops

What's your favorite kind of ice cream?

Christine Krim, manager at Hilliard's at Cobbs Corner in Canton served up a scoop of Cookies and Cookie Dough ice cream Tuesday afternoon. Hilliard's has dozens of flavors of ice cream, frozen yogurt and sorbet to serve up for a warm day. The homemade ice cream and toppings are made at their Easton location and is served seasonally from the Friday after Easter through the end of October at the Canton location. They offer traditional flavors like vanilla and chocolate and some more unique tastes like Cherry Cordial and Chewy Cashew Turtle Soup.

Bomb Squad Called to Investigate Suspicious Package at Cobbs Corner

The Friday afternoon incident turned out to be a false alarm.

A suspicious package found Friday afternoon at Cobbs Corner in Canton turns out to be a gym bag that was left behind, according to Canton Police. The bomb squad was called in, according to Officer Ted Lehan of the Canton Police, to investigate a package found in the vicinity of Rocky's Ace Hardware in the Canton portion of the shopping plaza.  The bomb squad cleared the bag and the situation was deemed to be under control, according to scanner reports.  This incident in Cobbs Corner appears to just be a false alarm.  The region of course is on heightened alert as authorities continue to search the greater Boston area for the second suspect in the Boston Marathon Bombing.  The bomb squad was also called to Canton on Tuesday to investigate a…

Canton Business Spotlight: Coolen's Pet Supply

A place for all your pets needs in the Canton area . . . and also a place to find a variety of pets up for adoption.

Coolen's Pet Supply, located right in the heart of Cobbs Corner, is more than just a pet food store. There are also small animals looking to be adopted, and others who are visiting for a small fee while their families are away. Patch recently spoke with owner Guy Coolen as he handled an albino red tail boa constrictor, which can reach a length of anywhere from three to 13 feet. Coolen is active in animal adoption. He has many small animals who have been brought in by owners who can no longer care for them and who are looking for forever homes. Patch: How long have you been in business? I discovered coolens about 2 years ago when my cat needed to be on a special diet. Guy spent time with me and we went over all the ingredients in the food till we found a perfect match. Mission Clothing, a unique and intimate boutique located in Canton, offers residents from the area contemporary women's clothing and accessories. "The goal of Mission is to give every customer who walks through the door, a personalized shopping experience," Owner Shoshanah Graupen said. Visions for Vacancies in Canton: What Should Fill Old KFC Building in 2013?

What do you think should fill a space once used by KFC and A&W Root Beer?

As you pass by through Cobbs Corner, you may recall there used to be a Kenucky Fried Chicken (KFC) and an A&W Root Beer restaurant at 120 Sharon St., where Canton, Sharon and Stoughton intersect. But the building, which includes a drive-through, has been vacant for some time. Now, with a new year right around the corner, if you had your choice, what would you use the building for? The Pajama Drive at Orange Leaf in the Village Shoppes at Cobbs Corner

Orange Leaf and the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce collected pajamas to be donated to Mainspring, a homeless shelter whose head quarters are located in Brockton.

  Gerry Pellissier, owner of Orange Leaf in Cobbs Corner along with Bonnie Policow from the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce who was the co-ordinator of the pajama drive event collected over 100 pair of pajamas to be donated to Mainspring, a homeless shelter whose head quarters are located in Brockton. This has been on going since the beginning of the month. The Stoughton Chamber of Commerce held their Christmas party back in early December and asked each person to bring in a pair of pajamas to be donated to Mainspring. From that event more than 60 pair of pajamas were donated. PHOTOS: Holiday Stroll at the Village Shoppes in Cobbs Corner

The Village Shoppes celebrated the holiday season with a holiday stroll.

  On Saturday, Dec. 15 and Sunday De. 16 the Village Shoppes in Cobbs Corner held a holiday stroll complete with a hay ride, holiday songs by the 'Canton Community Theatre Group', Steel Drums provided by 'The Xisles Drums', a hayride around the Cobbs Corner parking lot with Pat Mann and two large horses from the 'Whispering Wind Farm' in Chepachet, Rhode Island and Santa Claus posing for photos with the kids. The 2 day event kept the parking lot filled and the stores over flowing with shoppers. The holiday spirit was truly in the air. Here are some photos from the event. Orange Leaf Collecting Pajamas to Benefit Father Bill's and Mainspring

  On Saturday, Dec. 15 at 11:30 a.m. The Orange Leaf, a place to get your 'froyo', located in Cobbs Corner at the Village Shoppes along with Bonnie Policow of the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce will meet Lisa Frisbee of Father Bill's and Mainspring to hand over new pajamas donated by friends of Orange Leaf and members of the Chamber of Commerce. Each person who donates will recieve a free three ounce froyo. Gerry Pellissier had been looking for a charity to donate too over the holdays. He reached out to Terry Schneider of the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce who thought of Father Bill's and Main Spring who own the Evelyn House, a homeless shelter in Stoughton that cater's mainly to single parent families.
