Dunkin’ Donuts Raises $667K for One Fund Boston

Through customer donations, and a company donation, Canton-based Dunkin' Donuts has donated more than $667K to help victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.

Dunkin' Donuts customers across New England donated more than $467,000 to the One Fund Boston. The company itself donated an additional $200,000 to bring the total to more than $667,000. While getting their cup of joe or donuts, customers deposited money at registers at more than 2,000 Dunkin' Donuts franchises in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, New York and Maine, according to the Dunkin' Donuts' website. "I am so grateful to our franchisees, employees and guests who came together to support The One Fund Boston," wrote Nigel Travis, CEO of Dunkin' Donuts. "In addition, Dunkin’ Brands and The Dunkin’ Donuts & Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation together donated an additional $200,000 to the The One Fund Boston." …

Dunkin' Brands Takes Stand Against Obamacare

The Canton-based company is lobbying the White House to changes its definition of full-time work from 30 hours a week to 40 or more per week, according to reports.

Canton-based Dunkin' Brands has joined the fight against Obamacare.  The coffee and baked goods company is working to overturn a major provision of Obamacare, according to a Newsmax.com report this week. Specifically, Dunkin' is lobbying the White House to change its definition of full-time work from at least 30 hours a week to 40 or more per week, CEO Nigel Travis told the Financial Times, according to The Huffington Post. The change would leave Dunkin', as well as other companies, with fewer workers to insure under the health care reform law, which requires large employers to provide health coverage to all full-time workers and their dependents. Those companies who fail to provide coverage could face a penalty of $2,000 per worker. The …

Dunkin' Donuts Employee Receives Kind Gesture from Students [VIDEO]

Handshakes and hugs for Zamir Miah, who has worked the overnight shift at the store in Stony Brook, New York for about three years.

An employee of a local Dunkin' Donuts in Stony Brook, New York was honored by a group of Stony Brook University earlier this month, according to an article on Three Village Patch. It began as an anonymous compliment on the Stony Brook Compliments Facebook page, celebrating Zamir Miah, an employee at Dunkin' Donuts, the headquarters for which is located in Canton, who has worked overnight shift for about three years. The Facebook post mentioned that Miah is a kind, caring man. The post received hundreds of likes and several comments. It was then that Stony Brook student Daniel Ahmadizadeh decided to put together a plan to surprise Miah to tell him just how much he is loved. Baskin-Robbins to Expand in China

The local ice cream chain plans to open nearly 250 shops in China during the next decade.

Canton-based Baskin-Robbins has signed franchise agreements as it plans to triple its presence in China, according to a Boston.com report on Wednesday.  Along with Dunkin' Donuts, also based in Canton, Baskin-Robbins is part of the parent company Dunkin' Brands Group, Inc. The ice-cream chain said in a news release on Wednesday that the company is projecting to open 249 Baskin-Robbins shops in China during the next 10 years. Currently, the company has more than 90 locations in China, including shops in Beijing, Shanghai, Xi'an, Hangzhou and Zhengzhou. Dunkin' Donuts Launches New Mobile App

The Canton-based coffee and baked-goods chain has offered a new way customers to pay for products and obtain Dunkin-related gifts.

If a cup of Dunkin' Donuts coffee is your thing, you now can now "run on Dunkin'" more quickly than before.  The Canton-based coffee and baked-goods chain has launched a free new app for the iPhone, iPod Touch and Android, according to a report Thursday on InternetRetailer.com. The App allows customers to pay for food, beverages and other products at Dunkin' Donuts stores throughout the U.S. Users will also have the chance to send virtual gift cards through text, email and Facebook Connect, according to the report.  The Dunkin' App is available in the App Store and through Google Play Store, and allows customers to do the following: The move comes just days after the company announced an effort to branch out into other parts of the country…

Dunkin' Donuts to Double Locations Over Next 20 Years

The Canton-based Dunkin' Donuts has plans to double the number of shops in the U.S.

Here is some good news for coffee and Munchkin' lovers. Canton-based Dunkin' Donuts announced that it will be doubling its locations in the United States during the next 20 years.  According to a CNN report, in addition to more coffee, Dunkin' Donuts will be adding more jobs. The CNN report said that each new store will add an average of 20-25 full and part-time new employees. The Boston Herald, meanwhile, is reporting that Dunkin’ Donuts’ parent company, Dunkin’ Brands Group, Inc., signed a new deal to keep “franchisees in new markets with the same product costs as franchisees in established Dunkin’ Donuts markets.” The deal, according to the Herald, will eliminate across the board product costs among franchise owners.
