Snow Expected to Slicken Monday Evening Commute

Forecasters are warning the timing of an approaching snowstorm may make Monday afternoon and evening commute slippery.

There may be an inch of snow on the ground on Monday evening during the evening commute, according to forecasters at WHDH-TV.  "Don't expect a ton of snow, but a general 1-3" falls late Monday afternoon, through the evening, producing slick roads, perhaps in time for the ride home from work," writes meterologist Chris Lambert in his blog. Even though not much snow will fall, Lambert said that the snow "will create slick spots on the roads Monday evening and Monday night." The National Weather Service, meanwhile, has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Canton area effective at 1 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday. What a Mess

Storm brings freezing rain, sleet and snow to Canton.

The two-day storm has turned from all snow to all slush. The sleet, freezing rain and drizzle today created major puddles throughout the area, making the roads extra slick and creating difficult driving conditions for commuters. With all the precipitation and enormous snow banks, the melting is causing flooding and roof collapse throughout the state today. This afternoon, Town Manager William Friel urged Canton drivers to "please use care and caution while traveling on Canton roads due to developing flooding and potential freezing conditions."  The National Weather Service said to expect flash freezing over the area this afternoon and freezing drizzle tonight.
