One reader nominated two for the unofficial title. Let us know who you'd vote for as the Person of the Year for 2012.
Now that 2013 has arrived, we're looking back at 2012, and, specifically, who Canton readers looked at as the "Person of the Year". At Patch, we know it's important to pause and recognize the community members who make the neighborhood a better place, each and every day. Who contributed time and effort to planning that great event, or helping out a fellow resident in tough times? Maybe it's that person's positive spirit that impacts the community. Perhaps the person you're thinking of performs one of those "thankless" jobs we just can't live without. One local resident, Trisha Lee, weighed in with her nomination on Dec. 23: I would like to nominate Canton Planning Board members Jeremy Comeau and George Jenkins for Persons of the Year. …

Pumpkin pie? Pecan? A little of both? What dessert did you enjoy the most at Thanksgiving dinner?
What did you serve for dessert this Thanksgiving? With so much attention given to the bird, stuffing and cranberry sauce, dessert might be forgotten. However, some families still adhere to old recipes and labor all day to make a homemade pie. Some bakers are becoming really creative in mixing and mashing desserts, such as the Cherpumple, a monster pie-cake with apple, pumpkin and cherries. Canton Patch wants to know what dessert you enjoyed the most this year? Tell us in the comment section below!

The holidays are all about family, traditions and memories. It’s a chance to reconnect with family and friends whether through a card, email, phone call or catching up over dinner. Thanksgiving doesn’t have the cache of Christmas. There are no gifts or commercialism to distract us and because of this Thanksgiving is many people’s favorite holiday. Every family has its own traditions and memories that bring a smile. That favorite memory might be a big football game, but most likely it’s a special moment you shared with a loved one -- possibly someone who has since passed away. Patch wants to know: What is your favorite Thanksgiving memory? Let us know in the comment section. Happy Thanksgiving!
