5 Things Oct 26: Get Ready for a Very Busy Weekend of Halloween Events

Today take a class in T'ai Chi or line dancing at St. Gerards Church.

  1. There's a 9 a.m. T-ai Chi class at the Canton Council on Aging. Then at 10 a.m. join Robin Giampa for Ladies Room. 2. At 10:30 a.m. it's Storytime at the  Canton Public Library for ages 2 1/2 to 5 1/2. No registration necessary. Location: Library Children's Room  3. 1:30 p.m. there's line dancing at St. Gerards Church. This class is sponsored by the Canton Council on Aging. 4. At 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct 28, get ready for the Canton Department of Recreation Halloween Parade. The parade begins at the Bank of Canton parking lot. Get Your Pets Ready for the Lainer Halloween Pet Parade

The Lainer Halloween Pet Parade is open to all animals large and small.

For the last two decades, Lanier Animal Hospital has been hosting an annual costume Halloween Party for pets. This event has generated a bit of media coverage with prizes and refreshments for all participants. "The idea was to bring our community of pet lovers together to celebrate their love for their animals," Lainer said. "Throughout the years we have had incredibly innovative costumes on dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, rats, goats and horses. People who own animals tend to shower their pets with love. That same energy is very evident when parading their housemate in front of others." The parade will take place on Sunday, Oct. 28, at the Kennedy Elementary School playground.
