School vacation ends today, it's Back to School tomorrow.

The family jewelers return to Dedham, where they once had a store for 12 years.
After years away from bustling Providence Highway, the Karten family has returned to Dedham. Diamond Guild, owned by Louis Karten, held its grand opening last week to celebrate its move from Cobb’s Corner in Canton to Legacy Placein Dedham. “Legacy Place draws from a wider radius, so it was a logical move for us,” Karten said. “I don’t have to give anyone directions to get here.” In 1945, Karten’s grandfather opened the first Kartens Jewelers, which had a location for 12 years in the Dedham Mall. In 1995, the company sold all 20 stores to Zales Corp., and Karten went into the production business as Jewelry Solutions, which he still runs.
