Barack Obama Re-Elected President

President Obama defeated Republican Mitt Romney in the 2012 presidential election.

President Barack Obama and Vice-President Joe Biden were re-elected Tuesday night, defeating Republican challenger Mitt Romney and his vice-presidential running mate Rep. Paul Ryan. NBC News called the presidential election for Obama around 11:15 EST. The president sent a message on Twitter at 10:14 saying simply, "This happened because of you. Thank you." The Obama campaign won the most expensive presidential race ever, with both parties raising about $2.6 billion. The race was filled with negative campaigning on both sides, from President Obama attacking Romney’s business experience with Bain Capital to Romney lambasting Obama’s handling of the economy. Barack Obama Wins Massachusetts

A majority of voters in Massachusetts on Tuesday cast their ballot for Barack Obama, giving him the state's 11 Electoral votes.

Barack Obama won Massachusetts' 11 electoral votes on Tuesday, defeating Republican Mitt Romney. Romney and Obama did not campaign aggressively in Massachusetts. The state has typically been a Democratic stronghold in recent presidential elections.  The economy was a key issue for many voters in the state, as was the Affordable Care Act, colloquially known as Obamacare. Romney cast his ballot this morning in his hometown of Belmont, …

"Because he’s been representing the 1st District in Wisconsin for 14 years, and that whole time I’ve been living here [in Massachusetts]. I moved here in 1991, so this is first time I get to vote for him, and yes, I am very excited to do so.” Rock has lived in Walpole with her husband Bill since 2008. She is a …

Romney Testimony to be Considered for Public Relese

The court rejected Stemberg’s request to close the hearing, according to media reports.

A 1991 testimony given by Presidential candidate Gov. Mitt Romney in the divorce of Staples founder Tom Stemberg was under consideration for public release on Thursday at Norfolk Probate and Family Court in Canton, according to a Boston.com. report. On Wednesday, the court rejected Stemberg’s request to close the hearing, according to the Boston Globe, which is looking to access the impounded testimony of Romney. Romney was the owner and chief executive of Bain Capital at the time of the divorce; Bain had invested $650,000 in Staples to help the company open its first store in Brighton in 1986, according to the Globe.
