Leap Day Storm on the Way

Canton to get a mix of snow and rain today and tomorrow.

Be prepared for a messy commute today and tomorrow, Canton. The National Weather Service is forecasting a wintry mix starting this afternoon and ending Thursday night. The snow will start in Canton after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, although daytime accumulation will be less than one inch, according to the NWS. However, tonight's storm could bring two to four inches of snow to town. After 11:00 p.m. tonight, the storm changes over to rain and continues through Thursday. The messy mix includes fog, temperatures in the 40s and less than a half inch of new snow tomorrow. There is a chance of freezing rain and slick roadways, according to the Winter Weather Advisory. Keep the umbrellas, boots and ice melt handy, folks!

Winter Storm Watch for Wednesday

The National Weather Service issued a storm watch for Wednesday through Thursday for Norfolk County, including Canton.

Keep those umbrellas handy, Canton. The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch for the southern New England area, including Norfolk County, for tomorrow. The winter storm watch is in effect from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday afternoon, the NWS stated. Expect a mix of sleet, snow and rain tomorrow, with accumulations of about one inch in Canton. Temperatures will be in the mid 30s and winds could gust up to 20 m.p.h., according to the NWS. The timing of th storm could impact the Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes, the NWS stated. Be ready for a messy drive home with patchy fog and poor visibility. Take care on the roadways, folks!

A Snowy Saturday in Canton

Today's storm is expected to bring a few inches of snow to Canton.

Today's snow storm is expected to bring about two to four inches to Canton–just enough to have to clear the sidewalks. The National Weather Service decreased the accumulation totals, so it seems Canton will be spared any major snow piles. The snow started around 3:00 a.m. today and should continue through tonight. Expect a cold, chilly day with a high temperature of 35 and a low of 18 degrees, according to the NWS. But Sunday will be snow-free, with temps in the high 20s and partly sunny skies, according to the NWS.

Snow in Store for Saturday, Canton

The weekend storm is expected to bring three to five inches of snow in Canton.

Saturday just may be the perfect day to hunker down with a good book or movie and relax. Well, that is unless you have shoveling duty. The National Weather Service is predicting three to five inches to fall on the Canton area during Saturday's storm. The snow is expected to hit before 4:00 p.m. and bring a few inches of the white stuff to town. The new snow accumulation total is three to five inches, according to the NWS. The high temperature will be 26 degrees with a low of 15 in Canton on Saturday. That is perfect weather to stay inside with a hot cup of cocoa. Or hit the slopes for some skiing and sledding. Stay safe on the roadways tomorrow!

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Winter, Canton

More snow is heading towards Canton tonight and Saturday.

For many, Mother Nature has been kind up until this week. Through most of the winter, she has spared the Canton-area from shoveling, de-icing and thawing out. It seems like she may have changed her mind. After about an inch of snow and rain coated the area on Monday night, making for a messy commute Tuesday morning, expect part two of winter tonight. The National Weather Service issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for several counties in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. (Including Norfolk County.) Expect "widespread snow showers tonight" with snow accumulations of about one to two inches, the NWS stated. Tonight's low temperature will be about 26 degrees. Messy Morning Commute in Store for Canton Today

Expect wet, icy roads on your way to work and school this morning.

Drivers, be prepared for some slick roads this morning in and around Canton. With snow showers stopping at about 4:00 a.m. today, The National Weather Service said to expect rain showers all morning long. The roads will be icy and wet, making for a dangerous commute for all the early birds. With about one inch of snow on the ground from the overnight and early morning snowfall, and rain after 4:00 a.m., leave a little extra time while driving this morning. Expect temperatures in the 40s today and a low around 34 degrees, according to the NWS.

Pre-Irene Thunderstorms Expected Today in Canton

A precursor to Hurricane Irene will bring severe storms to Norfolk County Thursday afternoon and evening.

Although forecasters are still determining the exact time Hurricane Irene will hit on Sunday, Canton will be getting some wet weather today. The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for several counties in Massachusetts, including Norfolk County, along with parts of Rhode Island and Connecticut for today. "Isolated to scattered strong to severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening," the NWS stated. "The main threat" is strong and damaging winds and a second concern is hail, according to the NWS. A potential for a flood watch also exists for this afternoon and evening, according to the NWS. Be sure to bring your raincoat and umbrella this afternoon!

Severe Weather Watch for Canton

Norfolk County is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 10:00 p.m. Monday.

Enjoy the sun while you can, today. Canton is now under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 10:00 p.m. tonight. The National Weather Service issued the weather watch for several counties in Massachusetts, including Norfolk county. "Strong to possibly severe thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening," the NWS stated. "Damaging winds and large hail are the main threats." Storms are likely this afternoon up until 10:00 p.m., according to the NWS. Do not forget your umbrella this afternoon!
