With the lastest forecast, the National Weather Service has issued a blizzard watch for most of eastern Massachusetts including Canton, calling it a "potential historic winter storm". Residents can expect the potential of snow falling at 3-to-4 inches per hour and wind gusts of more thsan 20 miles per hour. Update (3:20 p.m.) - The Canton Police Department reported a large tree down on York Brook Road. As of 3:24 p.m., NSTAR reported that 77 customers in Canton were without power. Update (11:50 a.m.) - Schools in Canton will remain closed Monday due to Hurricane Sandy; all after-school activities, practices, games and events are also cancelled.
