Catherine M. “Kitty” Walsh (Ennis), 81, of Canton, passed away at the Alliance Health Care in Braintree on Saturday, April 20. Born and raised in the Field’s Corner section of Boston, Waslh graduated from Matignon High School. She worked for Boston Edison before marrying her husband Frank and starting a family. She later worked for First National Bank in Hyde Park, State Street Bank in West Roxbury and as a bookkeeper for her son Frank’s landscaping business before retiring. William F. Grant, of Sharon, formerly of Canton, died Tuesday, April 9. He was 89 years old. Grant was born in Norwood and grew up in Canton. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II. and was the owner of “Johnson Cleaners” in Canton for more than 25 years. He later worked as a custodian for the Canton Public Schools until retirement. Devoted husband of Mary H. Grant (Johnson). Loving father of William F. Grant III and his wife Catherine of Canton and Plymouth N.H. William is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Powers moved to Canton in 1986 and worked as a bookkeeper for Bowden Company and later for Sandeev Company for many years. A funeral service will be held at the Pushard Family Funeral Home in Canton at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Ann B. Powers (McGowan), 85, of Canton, formerly of Norwood and West Roxbury, died April 6 following a brief illness. Born in Boston, she attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Jamaica Plain. She enjoyed summering in West Dennis with her family. She moved to Canton in 1986 and worked as a bookkeeper for Bowden Company and later for Sandeev Company for many years. She was an accomplished organist and as a young woman played throughout the local area. After retirement she became a receptionist at the Charwell Nursing Home in Norwood. Eleanor Louise Parker, 97, of Dover, Delaware, passed away March 15 at home after an illness of several months. Parker was born in Canton on May 3, 1915 to the late George R. Lowry and Edna Nute Lowry. She was a graduate of Canton High School and Boston University's College of Liberal Arts. She worked in Boston for Lumber Mutual before her marriage to Howard Parker in 1941.
