AG Report Critical of Use of Shock Therapy by Judge Rotenberg Center A 131-page report released Monday by the Massachusetts Attorney General's office details the abuse of two teenage students at the Canton-based Judge Rotenberg Center who received nearly 100 "inappropriate" electric shocks during an incident in August 2007. The report, done by retired Judge Isaac Borenstein, calls for the special needs school to "strengthen its practices, policies and procedures to further ensure safety of the residents.” The school uses aversive therapy, which includes GED (Graduated Electronic Decelerator) shock therapy to correct behavior in students "who do no respond to only positive procedures," the study said. Canton Man Shot After Answering Doorbell Canton police are investigating a shooting on Chapman Street in Canton that occurred Friday morning around 2 a.m. A resident of the area was reportedly shot in the neck after he opened his front door and someone started shooting, according to a WHDH report. The victim was allegedly shot in the neck but was flown to Boston Medical Center and is expected to survive, according to the report.  Stoughton's Lori McKenna Releasing New Album, "Massachusetts" Stoughton's own singer-songwriter, nationally-acclaimed Lori McKenna, is releasing her six full-length album, "Massachusetts," officially on April 23. A Community Purim Celebration hosted by the Canton Chai Center “Purim in the Shtetl” was this year’s theme for the Purim celebration sponsored by the Canton Chai Center in Canton. Every year on the 14th of the Hebrew month of Adar, the festival of Purim, which means "lots", is celebrated.   Sen. Joyce Requests Ban on Skin Shock Devices at Canton's JRC Sen. Brian Joyce (D-Milton) this week requested the agency ban of painful skin shock devices as part of a testimony submitted to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).   Joyce, who represents Canton and Sharon , requested the ban of all Graduated Electronic Decelerators (GED) specifically for use at the Judge Rotenberg Center (JRC) in Canton. The FDA is expected to conduct a hearing with JRC representatives concerning the use of GED 3A and 4 devices, which are currently used to administer painful electric shocks to disabled children at the Canton facility without FDA approval. Stoughton Police Thwart Robbery at Webster Bank Stoughton Police, working with the FBI Bank Robbery Task Force, foiled an alleged robbery at Webster Bank in Stoughton Friday morning, Stoughton Police Executive Officer Robert Devine said. Lucas Gravina, 29, of Hull, entered the Webster Bank at 700 Washington St. (on the corner of Washington and Monk Streets) at 10:22 a.m. on Nov. 2 and robbed the bank of an undisclosed amount of money, Devine said. Gravina, a suspect in a series of bank robberies in the local area, was being surveilled by Stoughton Police Detectives and the FBI Bank Robbery Task Force as he was heading into the bank, and when he walked out, Stoughton Police greeted him and placed Gravina under arrest in the bank parking lot…
