The Turnpike Cafe, located at 958 Turnpike St. has been a staple in Canton for more than 50 years. New owners Patrick and Caroline Brodigan purchased the cafe one year ago and plan to continue its tradition of keeping it in the family. Canton Patch sat down with Brodigan to talk about his first year and if he's made any changes to this well known restaurant. Canton Patch: What is the history of Turnpike Café? Patrick Brodigan: The Geftea family had owned the Turnpike Cafe for 58 years. Quill Travel is our business spotlight this week. Patch spoke with owner Patricia Buresch about all aspects of the ever changing travel industry. Patch: How much did 9/11 impact the travel industry?   Quill Travel: Sept. 11 had a huge impact on the travel industry. Airlines and tour operators had to refund money to travellers because flights and tours were cancelled. People were afraid to travel for years following the attack. People travelled only if they had to for business. Amtrak's Acella Express became a more popular means of travel between Boston, New York and Washington. Sharon Business Spotlight: Pam's Pet Sitting

Since 2009, Pam's Pet Sitting has been operating in Sharon. Find out more about this local business in Sharon.

Pam's Pet Sitting in Sharon is owned and operated by Pam Lipman, a veteran pet sitter since 2009 who is fully insured and bonded. Her specialty includes cats, dogs, turtles, fish and even lizards. Lipman was spotted walking one of her regulars, a dog named Dodger who happens to be a Hurricaine Katrina rescue. "I have clients whose dogs I walk every day, mornings and evenings because of their work schedules," Lipman said. "I also have clients who need pet sitting done when they are away on a weekend or an extended vacation." Lipman serves Canton, Sharon, Easton and Stoughton.
