The Blue Hills Trailside Museum needs our help to get the snowy owl exhibit back up and running. Hurricane Sandy made her way across the east coast and many areas were affected by this massive storm. Young Lego Designers Display Their Creations in Canton

The Village Toy Shop is sponsoring a Lego window display contest this week.

Dinosaurs, spaceships, hotels and animal houses are all making an appearance at The Village Toy Shop in Canton. Thanks to a group of little designers, these Lego creations are on display at the Cobb's Corner toy store through Saturday. From as far away as Rehoboth, the kid creators entered the Lego Window Display Contest and are hoping their Lego design wins big on Saturday. The youngsters, ages three to 14, will win a Lego set for first place and a gift card for second place. The groups are divided by age and by Lego category: Realistic Creation or Fantasy Creation. Canton Shops Go Black on Black Friday

A utility mishap cuts electricity to Cobbs Corner Shopping Center around 7:30am on Black Friday.

Black Friday indeed. The Cobb Corner Shopping Center went black this morning when they lost lights around 7:30 a.m. "We had a little bit of a panic because the lights went out for about four minutes; it felt like forever," said Kathy Mabry, owner of The Village Toy Shop.  "We had a huge line and it just went black." Mabry said she heard that NStar had been doing some work in the area. But it didn't affect business for too long. "We had a huge turnout, it was really good," said Mabry, estimating she had about 200 transactions during the stores special sale hours of 7 a.m. and 11 a.m.  "Everyone was in a great mood."
