Blue Hills Brewery's South Shore Trail Run to Help Canton Food Pantry, Helpline

Saturday's 5K race is sponsored by the Blue Hills Brewery with proceeds going to the Canton Food Pantry and Helpline.

The inaugural South Shore Trail Run will take place on Saturday, April 27 at noon. This race is sponsored by the Blue Hills Brewery with proceeds to benefit the Canton Food Pantry and Helpline. This race is a 5K (3.1 miles) and will loop around Ponkapoag Pond. Runners will receive a commemorative t-shirt, two drink tickets and one food ticket for the after party at the Blue Hills Brewery, 1020 Turnpike Street in Canton. Check in starts at 10:30 a.m. at the Blue Hills Brewery and the race begins at noon. A shuttle bus from the brewery to Ponkapoag Pond will be provided for all registered runners. Blue Hills Winter Festival 2013 Kicks Off Today in Canton

You can ride the slopes, try some chili or go for a night hike with a naturalist.

The 2013 Blue Hills Winter Festival is on Tuesday, Feb. 26 from 5 - 8 p.m. at the Blue Hills Ski Area at 4001 Washington Street (Rt. 138). The event is sponsored by Friends of the Blue Hills and the Blue Hills Ski Area. All ages are welcome to come and enjoy a night time hike with a naturalist, ski or board down the slopes, taste chili and other faire from local restaurants and kick back with a beer from the Blue Hills Brewery. There will also be Irish tunes of Songs For Ceilidh. This event was created to encourage people to enjoy this wonderful reservation and all it has to offer. Ski tickets will be discounted to $15. for the evening as well as $15 for rentals.

PHOTOS: The First Annual Blue Hills Brewery Fun Run 2012

Second place finisher Steve Macpherson of Canton took part in the First Annual Blue Hills Brewery Fun Run 2012.

  The Blue Hills Brewery located at 1020 Turnpike Street had their 1st Annual 'Halloween' Fun Run on Saturday, Nov 3. Although Halloween was a few days earlier, many participants came in costume for thei 5K run. Runners received tee shirts, chowed down on hotdogs from Queen Anne's Catering at the end of the race and enjoyed sampling the newest flavors of beer at the brewery. In first place was Kristin Murphy with a time of 19:12, in second place, Erin Lope at 19:46 and in third, SteveMacpherson at 20:25. Here are some photos from the race on Saturday.

Senator Scott Brown Tours Blue Hills Brewery

U.S. Senator Scott Brown toured Canton's Blue Hills Brewery on Wed., as part of his tour of the state's breweries.  Brown spoke with brewmaster and CEO of Blue Hills Brewery, Andres Veidis about the trials and tribulations of running a small business in today's economy. He also mentioned that earlier this month President Barack Obama signed a bipartisan jobs legislation bill that will make it easier for start up companies to raise capital. The Senator was given a tour of the brewery. Brown said he was happy to hear that in two years time Blue Hills Brewery has doubled its tanks from two to five. So, do you like beer? Welcome to Canton's Blue Hills Brewery at 1020 Turnpike St. You might have seen their distinctive bottles with the original labels in many of the convenience and package stores around town and even out of town. There are five co-founders, Andris Veidis, brewmaster and CEO; Peter Augis, president of sales; Martin Grots, Mikelis Veidis and Talis Veidis. Veidis had been a professional commercial brewer, since 1994, starting at Harpoon. In 1997 he went to brew school at the University of California at Davis. After he graduated, was unable to find a brewing job so he took a contract installing brewing systems on the East Coast. Getting ready to entertain the crowds on Super Bowl Sunday? Here is a recipe, with a little Canton flavor, that is sure to delight the crowds. Strategis Helping Blue Hills Brewery Launch Single Malt Series

The Stoughton company is helping promote Canton's new brew.

Craving a golden ale? Canton's Blue Hills Brewery launched its latest brew and the Stoughton-based Strategis is helping to spread the word.  Strategis is working with Blue Hills Brewery, a microbrewery in Canton that specializes in craft beers, to launch a series of new offerings called the Single Malt Series, according to George Irish, founder and president of Strategis. The independent strategic marketing and communications agency won the account in 2010. Blue Hills Brewery will be releasing a unique style of beer every few months under the name Single Malt Series. Blue Hill Brewery hosts the 3rd Oktoberfest celebration with music, food, games and their premium brewed beer.

Blue Hills Brewery hosted their 3rd Oktoberfest celebration on Saturday at the Irish Cultural Center in Canton. The event featured live music from several bands, food, family activities, games and plenty of Blue Hills Brewery beer for the 21-plus crowd.
