Car Struck Pedestrian in Canton Over Memorial Day Weekend

The accident caused minor injuries to the pedestrian.

A pedestrian walking along Route 138/Washington Street in Canton Sunday night was struck by a car. Canton Police and Fire departments responded to the accident around 10:30 p.m. "We arrived to find one patient sitting on the side of the road," Canton Fire Lt. Tom Driscoll said. " The patient was immobilized on a long board to protect against spinal injuries and was then transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton." Canton Police Lt. Helena Findlen said the victim had "no apparent life-threatening injuries." The accdient occured in the vicinity of Route 138 and Royall Street, according to officials.

Canton Police Still Investigating Bank Robbery

Canton Police continue their investigation and search for suspect in Wednesday's robbery.

Canton Police are still searching for a suspect in Wednesday's daytime bank robbery. The Bank of Canton's Turnpike Street branch was robbed at about 12:24 p.m. Wednesday. It is "still an ongoing investigation," Canton Police Lt. Helena Findlen said this morning.  On Wednesday, a white male, 25-30 years-old, robbed the Bank of Canton branch at 259 Turnpike Street. No weapon was shown and no one was injured, according to police. The bank was closed for the rest of the day on Wednesday. The robber presented the teller with a note and he got away with an unknown amount of money, according to police. Canton Police and Fire Departments Are Celebrating for a Cause

The Canton Police and Fire Gala is being held next weekend.

Swapping their uniforms for formal wear, Canton's first responders are hosting the Canton Fire and Police Gala on May 14. The officers and firefighters are raising money for the Canton Area Helpline and remembering those who lost their lives on 9/11. The community event is a "way to honor our fellow police officers and firefighters who were killed in the line of duty on September 11, 2001," Canton Police Lt. Helena Findlen said. "This is the tenth anniversary of their sacrifice and we felt there was no greater way to remember them than to give back to the community we serve in a different way than is typical of each agency." Canton Police Arrest Seven Residents on Drug Charges

CPD made arrests after ongoing investigation.

Canton Police busted seven Canton residents on drug charges Thursday morning, resulting in several arrests, and netting cash, cocaine and other drugs. "It was an ongoing investigation that yielded approximately $10,000 in cash and an array of prescription meds, cocaine and marijuana," Canton Police Lt. Helena Findlen said. On Thursday at 9:20 a.m., police arrested seven people, all whom gave their address as 201 Arboretum Way in Canton. Canton Police Correction

Canton Police correct information regarding December 9 incident.

The Canton Police Department made a correction to an item in the Canton Police Log from December 9, 2010. Arthur Leventhal of Millis was not arrested. He was issued a complaint for a hearing, which was requested from the Clerk Magistrate for failing to pay wages in a timely manner, Canton Police Lt. Helena Findlen stated today. Due to a police department clerical error, the police log was incorrect. The department regrets the error.
