When is more snow coming?

On those days when it's outside and temperatures are in the single digits, it doesn't mean you need to stay indoors. If you like to cross country ski, the Ponkapoag Golf Course is the place to be. The Ponkapoag Pond at the rear of the golf course has a four mile trail going around the pond. The trail isn't clear because of the snow so you'd be better off wearing snow boots than sneakers. Before you leave the Ponkapoag parking lot, stop in at the Metropolis Ice Skating Rink. Public Skating is offered almost every day. Or take a right out of the parking lot and head over to Big Blue. Estranged Boyfriend Allegedly Commits Home Invasion, Arrested in Canton

An armed James Condon, 37, allegedly forced his way into the home of his former girlfriend and assaulted her Tuesday morning before being arrested in Canton.

A former Milton resident was arrested Tuesday after using a handgun to force his way into the Blue Hill River Road home he once shared with his estranged girlfriend and their two daughters. James Condon, who currently lives in New Bedford, was arrested by team of tactical officers at Ponkapoag Golf Course in Canton. Condon, 37, is facing charges of Armed Assault in a Dwelling, unlawful possession of a Firearm, Home Invasion, Threats to Commit a Crime,  Firearm Serial number Defacement, Witness Intimidation and Assault and Battery. Condon, who according to a statement from Milton Police Chief Richard Wells Jr. had been separated from his girlfriend and children for several months, made threats to the woman on Monday night. Summer is in Full Swing at the Ponkapoag Golf Course Jr. Golf Academy Camp

Improve your golf game this summer.

Ponkapoag Golf Course opened in 1936 in Canton. With summer upon us and many of our local Canton camps in full swing, what better place than The Ponkapoag Golf Course to host a variety of golf camps for kids ages 7 through high school? Their Jr. Golf Academy Camp program started last week and runs Monday through Friday from 9am - 3pm. or 9:00 - 1:00 P.M. depending on your skill level and also how many hours you are available to learn the game. For the high school students there is a three-day player development program at the end of the summer for students who are looking to perfect their game before the high school season starts. Looking for something to do this weekend in Canton: It's all here!

At 6:30 A.M. The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer begins at the University of Massachhusetts in Boston. The walk will go to Reebok World Headquarters in Canton and then turn around and go back again. Reebok International is proud to be a national sponsor of the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer and celebrates its seventh year as sponsor for this two-day event. If you aren't able to participate in the two day walk then why not join the Blue Hills Adult Walking Club at 1:00 P.M. for a 4-mile loop around Ponkapoag Pond on the green dot trail. Kids of all ages hit the hills at the Ponkapoag Golf Course for a sledding party Tuesday afternoon. The golf course opened up the grounds for an hour and a half of sledding fun, followed by hot chocolate, snacks and raffles. The event was sponsored by the Friends of the Blue Hills.

This weekly Wednesday column is set up to give you an assortment of kid-friendly activities for the week. February is the shortest month of the year, but it does  not always feel that way. Here are five, fun activities to enjoy with the whole family.
