A two-alarm fire on Kenmore Road in Stoughton caused extensive damage, but there were no injuries.
Canton fire officials aided the Stoughton Fire Department with a two-alarm fire that caused extensive damage to a Stoughton home on Christmas Eve, according to Stoughton Fire Department officials. The Stoughton Fire Department received a call at 9:13 p.m. on Dec. 24 for a fire at a single-story wood-frame dwelling at 38 Kenmore Road in Stoughton, SFD Captain Don Jasmin said. A fire on the first floor extended in to the attic space, according to Jasmin. The home has extensive damage, but there were no reported injuries to any of the home's occupants or to the first responders who were on scene, Jasmin said. Draper Knitting in Canton hopes to collect donations for the Powers family, whose Central Street home in Stoughton was severely damaged in a fire on Tuesday.
A Canton business is hoping to help the Powers family, whose Central Street home in Stoughton was seriously damaged in a three-alarm house fire Tuesday afternoon. Draper Knitting, located at 28 Draper Lane in Canton, will be accepting donations between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and “will be sure these donations go directly to the Powers Family,” Kristin Draper of Draper Knitting wrote in an email to Patch. “If people would like to donate to the Powers family in the form of gift cards to grocery stores or Walmart/Target, we will be happily accepting donations,” Draper wrote in an email. Canton assisted the Stoughton Fire Department with the blaze.
The Stoughton Police and Fire departments, along with fire departments from nearly ten other towns including the Canton Fire Department, responded to a three-alarm fire Tuesday. The house fire on Central Street in Stoughton started just before 1:00 p.m. No injuries have been reported, but there is extensive damage to the second and third floors of the home. The fire was initially discovered on the rear-porch of a single-family home at 1832 Central Street in Stoughton, but at this time, fire officials are not certain that is where the fire started. The CFD responded to an early morning blaze at 33 Will Drive. The cause is currently unknown.
An early-morning blaze is being investigated by the Canton Fire Department, Canton Police Department and the State Police, according to Canton Fire Chief Charles Doody. The Canton Fire Department and Stoughton Fire Department responded to the 5:04 a.m. fire at the Canton Village Apartments at 33 Will Drive.
