Canton officials recently issued a notice to residents regarding the indication that a certain "fecal" indicator had been detected in the town's water supply. Emphasizing that the detection was not an emergency, the notice to residents stated that residents did not need to boil water or take other corrective actions. Featured Announcement: The Town of Canton Water & Sewer Department has partnered with the Neponset River Watershed Association to help facilitate a grant received from the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection for a one-year water conservation program. The program includes leak detection surveys and repair; residential rebates for the purchase of qualifying water efficient toilets, toilet retrofit kits, and clothes washers; development of a water conservation curriculum within the Canton schools; and public outreach.
