Nor'easter Could Blow Through on Wednesday

The storm could drop 1 to 2 inches of rain late Wednesday into Thursday and bring wind gusts along the coast.

A little more than a week after 'superstorm' Sandy swept through Massachusetts, area residents may have to brace for another windy, rainy night on Wednesday.   A nor'easter could blow into the area mid-week and the storm could drop 1 to 2 inches of rain from Wednesday into Thursday, according to WHDH meteorologist Jeremy Rainer.  Rainer also wrote that coastal winds could gust between 40 and 60 miles per hour along the South Shore, Cape Cod and the islands, although winds "will be much lighter inland with this storm." The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a hazardous weather outlook statement on Sunday afternoon, saying that strong to damaging northeast winds are likely especially across Eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island late …

Norfolk County Now Under Tornado Warning

National Weather Service upgraded the watch to a warning.

The National Weather Service has upgraded a Tornado Watch that was issued Wednesday afternoon to a Tornado Warning for parts of Norfolk County, including Canton.  The Town of Canton used its phone alert system to warn residents of the severe weather tonight. The message warns residents to get to the "lowest interior room in their house" if a tornado hits. The alert warned residents of weather "that may include super-cell thunder storms, high winds and even possible tornadoes." A Tornado Warning is issued when a tornado may have touched down or is expected to develop due to severe weather. Officials advise people in these areas to be on the lookout for “threatening weather conditions” and to listen for additional announcements and possible …
